Cory Really Needs Us

I'm creating this campaign to help a good friend of mine that is going through a very tough time. Cory Greenway was an active guy. He went to the gym, focused on his health and fitness A LOT, loved the outdoors, and over all just enjoyed being active. About 8 months ago, while being his usual active self, Cory was involved in a severe boating accident. After days of blood transfusions and multiple surgeries, Cory came out of his medically induced coma stable, but forever changed. He suffered injuries, that despite his best efforts during his recovery period, are still drastically affecting his daily life. With a broken spine, pelvis, foot, ankle, and knee, Cory was unable to walk for 3 months. As debilitating as these injuries were, the nerve damage was even more so. 8 months later, Cory is still battling extreme pain and lack of control / feeling over things we take for granted such as going to the bathroom and walking. It is still painful for him to sit, painful for him to stand, and painfull for him to walk. The sever pain has prevented him from returning to work and in general returning to a normal lifestyle. The majority of his days are now spent either icing down on the couch or laying in bed, a far cry from his once very active lifestyle. The only "solution" that has helped him slightly is a steroid regimen, which has terrible long term effects, until now! Cory has been accepted into a treatment program that can not only relieve him of his pain, but can drastically increase his chances for a full nerve regeneration recovery!!!! This treatment program is not easy to get into, so for him to be accepted is a HUGE challenge itself. Being given the opportunity to work with Dr. Riordan and his team is not something I feel he should be forced to pass up because of monetary restraints. You can't put a price on someone's quality of life.

The reason I am here asking for your help is because his insurance will not cover the procedure. This could change Cory's life forever and get him back to the active, fitness loving, outdoorsman he used to be. If we can meet our goal by June 10th, we can give Cory a chance to get back to leading a normal, productive life.
